      Mr. Anderson-Wilkerson Orchestra

 Hello!!

I am honored and blessed to have been a part of the Wilkerson Orchestra for the past 19 years and I look forward to a wonderful 2019- 2020  school year as this will be my 20th year as Director of the Wilkerson Orchestra.   As we have already started the 2019-2020 school year, I see some great potential in my 60+  6th graders and I have the joy of teaching and starting over 40 (very eager) 5th graders.

My love for music and my start with the Orchestra began over 40 years ago when I started learning how to play the Viola at Garfield Elementary in Ponca City, Oklahoma.   Countless days of practicing, performances and fun trips  thru the grade levels ( 5th--12th) helped me be accepted to Bowling Green State University, (Ohio)  where I received my Bachelors Degree in Music Education in 1992.  Graduate Work in Music Education and Performance from Emporia St. University, (Kansas) from 1992-1994 lead me back to Texas and teaching in the public schools  since 1995.

After each school day has ended, I can be found at home with my wife Lorene, of 24 years and our 2 boys, Dakota and Matthew.   Lorene also works with Conroe ISD,  so we  get to enjoy most of the activities that Matthew,  who is now a Junior  at Oak Ridge HS,  is wanting to do, and help our oldest, Dakota, who is attending Lone Star College, become a Auto Mechanic.   I can also  be found watching various sporting events....(Houston Astros, OU Sooners, BGSU Falcons, and RedWing Hockey)...with friends and can be seen playing my Viola with the Conroe Symphony and the Woodlands United Methodist Church. When I finally get the chance to relax, you will find me watching the old TV comedies and classic game shows  or simply listening to music, and yes, almost every type of music.

I look forward to coming to work every day and it is my hope that I get to help my 5th & 6th graders find their love for music and string orchestra playing just like I did a   VERY LONG TIME AGO!!

It will be a GREAT year!!

Musically,

   Mr. Anderson-Wilkerson Orchestra
